Sharon Berg’s most up-to-date publishing news is the acceptance of her poem “Trilliums” to a menstruation-themed anthology that does not yet have a title. It is due to be published in the Spring of 2017. This is the second time that her work has appeared in a similarly-themed collection. Her poem “Take this red for instance” was included in a group of poems by women in Toronto’s Phoenix workshop. It appeared in English with a Dutch translation by Maria Jacobs in Opzij, a Feminist publication from Amsterdam in December 1978.

Sharon won 2nd prize for Poetry in the 2015 GritLit Writing Contest and read her work at the 2016 GritLit Festival in Hamilton, Ontario. Her four winning poems were published in the 2015 GritLit Chapbook.

In the Spring of 2017, publisher Palgrave MacMillan will publish The Name Unspoken: Wandering Spirit Survival School as Chapter 11 in Alternative Schooling: Canadian Stories of Democracy within Bureaucracy with editors Nina Bascia, Esther Fine & Malcolm Levin.

Sharon Berg is currently making the rounds to find a publisher for her third poetry manuscript called All Things Begin in Dust and her first children’s picture book called In The Beginning There Was You. At the same time, she is working on a book length version of The Name Unspoken by rewriting her 1998 Master in Education thesis to prepare it for the general public.
